Pierre Auger Observatory
The Pierre Auger Observatory covers an area of about 3000 km2. It is located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. Its goal is to study the most energetic particles in the Universe, the ultra-high-energy cosmic rays, with energies exceeding 1018 eV.
